I am going to be making a cake in the near future, and wanted to make things out of gum paste, but never have done so. I have some sort of idea how to go about it, I have bought the mixes, and am planning it out…. But say you make leaves, and you want to put it on the edge of a cake that is going to possibly ( I am going to try) have fondant on it, how do you get it to stick on top of the fondant? Is there some sort of sugary paste you can use? Thanks Hmm. I’ve never used Royal Icing. I was going to ice the cake with buttercream icing. Gonna try to make a cake not with flowers, but with dinosaurs and volcano’s. Was gonna try to add leaves and other stuff somehow. I just figured gum paste would be easier because I had read that it was kind of like a clay texture, and in school, I worked with a lot of clay(art school). I will look into the royal icing though. Just thought it may be easier seeing as how I already have the gum paste mixes. thanks :D Oh. I also forgot to ask: I had seen in a video that buttercream icing was the easiest for the fondant recipe that I seen to stick too (some marshmallow recipe). Would royal icing be better, or are they both ok?

I suffer from depression and a lot of times I just can’t get up or can’t get out of bed and I probably skip at least one meal on most days. This has been happening for a few years. What damage can it do?

I am trying to make a cars cake for my son’s birthday, and I already know how I’m going to make it…but I know that all of the cutting and carving I want to do is just going to make a lot of crumbs that will show through the frosting. I do all of my kids’ birthday cakes every year, and try to make it more interesting and creative every year. I am not a baker, I am a creator. I know the basics of baking, but I’m really just beginning to learn the good stuff. I’m using a cake mix…not making it from scratch. Is there some way that I can make the cake a little more dense, and not so fluffy? Or is there some other trick to make it come out looking smooth? Thanks to anyone who can give me some good advice. I’m not going to special order the cake, because like I said…I make my kids cakes myself every year. I have made a tradition of seeing what else I can create.

Whenever I go for a walk with my dog, a Jack russell cross, he tries to attack other dogs. I got him from a cats and dogs home a couple of months ago. I like to let him off for a run around because he has a lot of energy. Most of the time there’s another dog in the field and he runs off to it. He won’t come if I call him if there’s another dog and he tries to attack it. A couple of dogs he seems fine with, he sniffs them, then he suddenly tries to attack him. I want to let him off for a run around but theres nowhere else I can do that apart from the field. I want to do something before he gets hurt.

My 5 year old gets stuffy at night a lot and she is constantly trying to blow her nose but nothing comes out. She has a fairly nice size bedroom so I put the warm mist vaporizer on one side of the room and the cool mist humidifier on the other end. Am I doing more harm than good?
